1. About Us

SunshineSocket is a trading name of Photozoa Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), registered in England and Wales under company number 17471988, with our registered office at 128 City Road, London, United Kingdom, EC1V 2NX. We sell plug-in solar kits and related products online at www.sunshinesocket.co.uk.

These Terms and Conditions apply to all purchases made through our website. Please read them carefully before placing an order. By placing an order, you confirm that you are aged 18 or over and agree to be bound by these terms.

2. Our Contract With You

A contract is formed between you and us when we send you an order confirmation email. We reserve the right to decline any order at our discretion, in which case we will provide a full refund of any payment taken.

Orders are fulfilled via third-party suppliers and delivered directly to you. We remain responsible to you as the seller under all applicable consumer law.

3. Pricing and Payment

Prices are correct at the time of display but may be subject to change without notice prior to an order being placed.

Payment is taken in full at the time of ordering. We accept major debit and credit cards via Shopify Payments. Payment card details are processed by Shopify Payments/payment providers and are not stored by SunshineSocket.

4. Delivery

We deliver to UK mainland addresses. Delivery to Northern Ireland, islands and remote areas may be unavailable or subject to surcharges, as stated at checkout. Delivery is carried out by a third-party courier on our behalf. Customer name(s), email address(es), phone number(s), delivery addresses and order details may be shared with our fulfilment suppliers, manufacturers and couriers for the purposes of processing, fulfilling and delivering your order only.. Estimated delivery timeframes are provided in good faith but are not guaranteed, and SunshineSocket is not liable for delays caused by the courier or circumstances beyond our control. Unless otherwise agreed, we will deliver goods within 30 days of accepting your order. Missed or failed deliveries will be reattempted once before additional delivery charges apply. Any redelivery charge will only apply where the courier has provided reasonable advance notice of the delivery window and the consumer had a reasonable opportunity to make arrangements to receive it. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the delivery address is accurate, that somebody is available to receive the goods on the expected date of delivery (within the time range provided by the courier), and that the goods can be readily accepted.

Risk in the goods passes to you upon delivery. We recommend that you inspect goods on delivery and report any visible damage or loss to us in writing as soon as reasonably possible at support@sunshinesocket.co.uk. Your statutory right to reject faulty or damaged goods within 30 days of delivery is not affected by any delay in reporting.

5. Your Right to Cancel (Consumer Customers)

If you are a consumer (purchasing for personal, non-business use), you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

To exercise your right to cancel, you must notify us in writing (by email to support@sunshinesocket.co.uk) within the 14-day cancellation period. You must then return the goods to us within 14 days of notifying us.

Return shipping costs for unwanted products are the responsibility of the purchaser and will not be refunded. You may arrange your own return via a fully insured, tracked courier at your own cost, or we can arrange collection on your behalf at a cost communicated to you before collection is arranged, which will be deducted from your refund.

Once you have notified us of your cancellation, we will process your refund within 14 days of receiving the returned goods back from you. Refunds will be made provided the goods are returned in their original condition and packaging, unused and uninstalled. We reserve the right to deduct from the refund an amount reflecting any reduction in value of the goods if they have been handled beyond what is necessary to inspect them.

The right to cancel does not apply to business customers — see Section 9.

6. Faulty or Damaged Goods

If your goods arrive damaged or are found to be faulty, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible at support@sunshinesocket.co.uk. We will handle the matter in accordance with your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which may include repair, replacement, refund or price reduction. Where goods are faulty or not as described, we will cover reasonable return costs where required by law.

Faulty goods will be returned to the manufacturer for testing. If testing indicates the product is not faulty, we may return it to you and may not provide a refund, subject always to your statutory rights.

The mobile applications (apps) provided by third parties to monitor energy data associated with the kits are not essential for the basic function of the kits to generate electrical energy from solar. SunshineSocket is not responsible for app availability, updates, compatibility, WiFi or data charges associated with using the apps. Any issues or faults with the apps will not qualify for Faulty or Damaged goods terms set out above.

7. Warranty

The Plug-In Solar Panel kits sold by SunshineSocket carry a 10-year manufacturer's warranty. Warranties are provided by the manufacturers and are subject to their terms and conditions. For warranty claims under the manufacturers’ 10-year warranty, after 12 months from purchase we will assist you by directing you to the manufacturer's warranty process, which may offer a faster resolution. We will provide you with the relevant manufacturer contact details upon request. Using the manufacturer’s warranty is in addition to, and does not affect, statutory rights under consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Warranty is subject to applicable warranty terms, correct installation, permitted use and product exclusions. Keep your proof of purchase, serial numbers and installation records.

8. Product Information and Compliance

Plug-in solar kits sold by SunshineSocket are listed on the Energy Networks Association (ENA) approved device register. Each household can have one plug-in solar device with a maximum output of 800W installed at any one time, under current ENA grid connection guidelines (G98). These limits are subject to change; please check the ENA website for the latest requirements. Product specifications are provided by the manufacturer and are subject to change without notice.

The customer accepts sole responsibility for obtaining permissions such as those from local planning authorities or any landlord or freeholder, should they be required. Kits sold by SunshineSocket are not suitable for balcony installation. Use a kit only in the locations expressly permitted by its instructions.

It is the responsibility of the purchaser to ensure the product is suitable for your intended use and installation location. We recommend consulting a qualified electrician if you are in any doubt. Specifications, features and product appearance may change without notice. Performance varies depending on location, season, weather, shading, installation angle and orientation. Face panels south where possible for best output and ideally at an angle of 35-degrees from horizontal. Avoid shading wherever possible for maximum output. Kits are designed for connection to a suitable outdoor socket installed and certified by a qualified electrician. Installation must follow the supplied manual, local electrical regulations and all safety guidance. Do not use damaged cables, plugs or connectors. SunshineSocket and the manufacturer accept no liability for incorrect installation, misuse, unauthorised modification or failure to follow installation instructions.

SunshineSocket is not responsible for loss or damage arising from incorrect installation, misuse, unauthorised modification or failure to follow installation instructions, except where we are responsible by law.

Distribution Network Operator (DNO) Notification Service
Where selected and paid for at checkout, SunshineSocket will provide a DNO notification service in connection with the plug-in solar kit purchased from us. This service consists of taking reasonable steps to register the customer’s device with the Energy Networks Association’s UK Plug-In Solar Registration service, using the information provided by the customer.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that all information supplied to SunshineSocket is complete and accurate. SunshineSocket is not responsible for errors, delays, failed notifications, or lack of confirmation arising from inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading information supplied by the customer. SunshineSocket is not responsible for notifying the customer’s DNO of any future device removals or replacements at the address of installation, nor will we be responsible for further notifying DNOs of the purchased kit if it is installed at a new address.

The service fee covers SunshineSocket’s administrative time in preparing and submitting the notification. It does not guarantee a response from the DNO or ENA. SunshineSocket is not responsible for delays, failures, decisions, or responses by any DNO or the ENA, provided we have taken reasonable steps to submit the notification using the information supplied by the customer.

The DNO notification service may be completed by SunshineSocket at any time between the moment of purchase and no later than 27 calendar days after the delivery date, provided the customer has supplied all information required to complete the notification. If the customer cancels their order and returns the goods before the DNO notification service has been performed, the DNO notification service fee will be refunded. Once the DNO notification has been submitted using the information supplied by the customer, the service will be treated as completed and the service fee will not be refunded, except where required by law.

Unless otherwise agreed, the customer remains responsible for ensuring that any required notification is completed within the applicable timeframe and for checking that confirmation has been received. If the customer does not receive confirmation within 28 days of installation, they should contact support@sunshinesocket.co.uk and/or the relevant network operator promptly.

 9. Business Customers

If you are purchasing as a business, you are not treated as a consumer for the purposes of consumer protection legislation, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015. The following differences apply:

•      The 14-day consumer cancellation right under Section 5 does not apply.

•      Returns of unwanted goods are accepted at our discretion only and may be subject to a restocking fee.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in connection with any order shall not exceed the price paid for the goods in that order.

SunshineSocket is not liable for any indirect, consequential, or economic loss, including loss of earnings or savings, arising from the use or inability to use our products.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Privacy

We process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available at sunshinesocket.co.uk/policies/privacy-policy. Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under UK GDPR. We encourage you to read our Privacy Policy before placing an order.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your purchase shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

13. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. The version in force at the time of your order will apply to that order. We recommend checking this page periodically.

14. Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)

If a dispute arises from your purchase and we are unable to resolve it to your satisfaction through our complaints process, you may refer the matter to an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) scheme. We are not currently a member of an approved ADR scheme. However, you may seek independent advice or use any relevant approved ADR body if both parties agree. Nothing in this clause affects your right to take legal action.

If you have a complaint, please contact us in the first instance at support@sunshinesocket.co.uk. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 working days and aim to provide a full response within 14 working days.

15. Contact Us
